The FIFA 18 release date has recently been announced, and since then we had seen a steady inflow of information about the upcoming game. We already know that this year’s entry will celebrate none other than Christiano Ronaldo on its cover for this year’s edition, and that it is scheduled to be released in late September. But alongside that, all the excitement is directed towards the new features that FIFA 18 is going to get. Here is a list of the features that have been confirmed so far.
The Journey Season 2
One of the best features about FIFA 17 was the introduction of a story-oriented single-player mode called The Journey. The mode focused on the fictional rising star Alex Hunter and follows through with his soaring career. So it was unsurprising that one of the first news we got to hear about FIFA 18 was the continuation of The Journey. Now that the game has been officially revealed, we know that the new mode will be called The Journey: Hunter Returns. Not only is it bringing back the protagonist from FIFA 17, it will also pick up from right after where it had left off in the last game. But there is more: FIFA 18’s Journet mode will feature star studded cameos from notable footballers, including Rio Ferdinand. Ronaldo himself might also play a crucial part in it. Besides that, there will be various locations, and real-life scenarios imbued into the mode.
FIFA 18 for Nintendo Switch
While people doubt how the new game will perform on the Switch (courtesy of the lack of a Frostbite build), there is much to look forward to in the custom-made Switch version of FIFA 18. One of them is Ultimate Team, many of the features of which will be available to exploit the Switch’s hybrid nature to the fullest. So expect to have your fill of Squad Building and other notable things in FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch.
FIFA 17 was a great game to say the least, but in the gaming industry, there is always room for improvement. But deriving from what we have seen of FIFA 18 so far, the game looks fantastic. The Frostbite’s polish seems to have worked in the game’s favour greatly, and it looks like fans’ insistent complaints about unrealistic crowds among other things seems to have been addressed.
Realistic Representations of Players and Teams
The developers have been working on delivering an improved experience with FIFA 18, and one of them is improved player personalities. With any luck, this may translate to the player characters behaving the way they actually do both on the field and off it, making them more recognizable, and overall more authentic. There will also be improvements on the team front, which might result in a more wholesome experience.
Despite all the great things about FIFA 17, one aspect where it suffered the most was in the gameplay. While the all the requisite elements had been well balanced, the fact is that minor things ended up affecting the overall experience. To address the issue, the creators have assured that they have focused on improvements specifically on this front, including dribbling patterns.
In conclusion, all that needs to be said is that the hype is definitely on about FIFA 18. The upcoming game will undoubtedly be the best that fans have had the pleasure of getting their hands on in recent years, thanks to all the promised upgrades. Now let us just hope that all of these add up to a game that not only looks great, but also plays well.
